How To Choose A Laptop
Written by GnomeFan on April 14, 2008 – 10:15 pm -I’m thinking of buying a laptop this Saturday, since I’ve been wanting to own one for SO LONG. Not only I WANT to own one, i think that it would really help me with my study, since almost ALL of the reports and assignment needed to typed out.
Well, in this tech-based post, i want to share with you guys out there tips on how to choose the perfect laptop for you.
1. Figure out what you want to do with the laptop - If you’re using your laptop just to type, doing assignments, work, reports and surfing the net, it’s best if you opt for a lower specification for a laptop, since higher specification(processor speed,RAM) will cause you much more money.
2. Select a price range - Laptops nowadays are priced from RM1500 to RM10,000. So, before you decide to go to a laptop seller, pick out a price range that suits you.
3. Go to the shop - Try out the laptop first, take your time, feel the keyboard, look at the screen, feel the casing. Doing so, will make you more confident for buying THAT laptop. It’s no use if you REGRET buying it later.
4. Specifications - Nowadays, people buy laptops not just for their portability, but also their specs. The hardware inside the laptop is what makes it differ from other laptops. Choose what is suitable for you (like i said before).
5. Connectivity - Don’t buy the laptop if it doesn’t have bluetooth, WiFi(802.11g/b/a), and also USB ports. Why would you own a laptop that doesn’t have this ‘basic’ features? It’s a waste of money if you buy this kind of laptop. Nowadays, almost EVERY digital hardware connects through USB and Fire wire ports.
6. Haggle - Lastly, try to haggle with the seller. Try to get as much things you can out of your purchase. Most sellers now give free mouse, free traveling bag and sometimes even free UPGRADE. Don’t worry, they wont get mad at you if you push too hard.
Well, happy hunting for a laptop!! And i will post my laptop later!! :p
